Dr. Beserra, the IKCC is delighted to notify you that you have been awarded the 2020 IKCC Cecile and Ken Youner International Kidney Cancer Coalition (IKCC) Scholarship. Congratulations to you and the entire team. Please accept our apologies for the late notification of your award but we have been uncertain about our ability to hold our planned annual meeting in Singapore April 16-18th in view of COVID-19. The IKCC Board met today and decided to postpone our meeting to the fall and to move it to Europe, possibly Amsterdam or the UK. Your award provides funds for you to attend where you will receive the Scholarship certificate and be invited to present your work, “Developing a patient-derived xenograft project in RCC”. I’m copying this email to Rose Woodward who chairs our Conference Committee and will be revising the program in view of our decision to postpone. I would suggest that you think about how you would present your work in terms of framing your personal work with the field of animal and tissue research remembering that the audience is lay and may be sensitive to some pictures featuring experimental animals and cancers.
